For years I traveled the world singing — and I saw the most extraordinary thing: tables. Tables in Jerusalem. Tables in Sydney. Tables in São Paulo. Tables full of strangers who became family within hours.
But I also saw the other side. The Shabbatot when I sat alone in a hotel room far from home. I knew that somewhere — in that very city — there was a Jewish family with an empty chair, candles already lit, food on the stove.
We just had no way to find each other.
The Shefa Table is the bridge I wish had existed. One flame, one table at a time.

The story so far
From three Shabbatot alone.
- 2019Three Shabbatot alone.I was newly divorced. People assumed I had somewhere to go for Shabbat. It took me three Shabbatot to understand that I had to ask.
- 2020Shefa House.I asked a dear friend, Eran Israel, and his wife Chani. They opened their home in Miami every Friday night, to anyone who needed a table. I hosted there for two years straight, and I named it Shefa House.
- 2021The idea.If one home could do this every week, so could a thousand. No Jew should sit alone on Shabbat.
- 2024The design takes form.The flame. The cream. The trust seals. Every detail considered.
- 2025The platform built.Thirty screens, three journeys, two trust seals, one flame.
- 2026The doors open.Then I found my own wife. Now we take it everywhere. Israel and the United States first.
