1. Who we are
The Shefa Table is a private invitation network that helps Jewish hosts welcome guests for Shabbat and chagim. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By joining you confirm that the identifying information you provide — name, phone, photo — is your own.
3. How hosting and knocking work
A knock is a request, not a reservation. Hosts decide whom to accept based on the information they see; guests accept a host's invitation at their own discretion. The Shefa Table is not a party to meals, does not verify claims made by members beyond basic identity checks, and does not guarantee a Shabbat table.
4. Community standards
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person or create duplicate accounts.
- Use the service to harass, solicit, or proselytize.
- Share another member's contact information outside the app.
- Use the service for commercial hosting without written consent.
Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal at our discretion.
5. Content you share
You retain ownership of your profile, photos, and messages. You grant us a non-exclusive license to store and display them within the service as needed to make it work. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Edit profile.
6. Safety
Meet with wisdom. If you are meeting a stranger, tell a trusted friend where you'll be. Trust your instincts. If anyone acts inappropriately, report them from the message thread or write to safety@shefa.app.
7. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Shefa Table is not liable for actions taken by members, including but not limited to meals, travel, or property at a host's home. Attend at your own discretion.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
